The students in Color & Design spent the entire semester creating upcycled books. These books were donated from the library and given a new life. The requirements of the project were that the books had to have a consistent theme, at least two 3D “pop-up” techniques, have at least eight pages and use at least eight different types of media and a cover. I love how this project showcases each student’s interests.
Students in Color & Design focused on experimentation by creating art journals out of old library books. Each book has a unique theme based on the student’s interests. The artwork turned out awesome and I was happy to see the books have a new life!
Student artwork on display in the library!
Students in Studio Art were challenged to create an original artwork that incorporated musical artifacts such as cds, records, and vintage sheet music. The students focused on taking risks and experimenting with new media and techniques. They also helped create the display in front of the auditorium for the winter choral and band concert. We added a festive vibe with snowflakes made out of vintage sheet music.
