The fifth project that the students in Art 7 completed was three-dimensional sculptures. They created the designs out of cardboard, newspaper, and cups as a support structure. The students layered many strips of newspaper to create a sturdy piece of artwork. When the base of the letter was complete, they added their own decorations to personalize their artwork.
The students in Art 7 created 3D decorative initials. First they built the base of the structure using cardboard, paper cups, and glue. Then they layered many strips of paper mache over the base. Finally, they painted and decorated their letters using a variety of techniques. Some of the students experimented with new methods for adding decoration such as splatter painting, masking with tape, and creating paper flowers. Every letter is truly unique!
