TAB

What’s TAB?

TAB stands for Teaching for Artistic Behaviors

The TAB philosophy of art education acknowledges that the most important thing to take away from art classes is the ability to behave and think like an artist. This choice-based, student-centered approach to art education gives students the power to experiment, explore, and develop and refine their own ideas and solutions using art making and problem solving skills. The artistic behaviors we are focusing on include:

Artists communicate

Artists solve problems

Artists take risks

Artists collaborate

Artists are original

Artists observe

Artists develop art making skills

These skills are necessary for students to cultivate, not only for art specific careers, but for any future profession. For more information about TAB visit http://teachingforartisticbehavior.org/
