Abstract Art!

Mrs. Smith & Ms. Percival’s classes have been exploring the world of abstract art. We made prints using a process called decalcomania that was invented by the Surrealists(that I don’t have pictures of), mixed media watercolors, and paper sculptures. Check them out!

To create these paintings, first we drew with glue to create texture on our papers. During the next class period, we added the watercolor paint. Finally, we sprinkled salt on the wet paint to create a unique effect.

I only have a few pictures of these awesome sculptures because the kids were so excited to take them home that I didn’t even get a chance to photograph all of their work.
