Watercolor Portraits (Color & Design: creative project #10)

The students in Color & Design painted these awesome watercolor portraits.  To create the paintings, the students first edited their subjects in photoshop to create high contrast images. Then they transferred the images to watercolor paper and preserved the white spaces with masking fluid. Then they painted the dark areas of the image while the whites remained intact. Finally, when the paint was dry, they removed the masking fluid to reveal the white areas. This resist method is easy to learn and produces fantastic images.
