To start the school year, art students in Color & Design are exploring “self” through a series of projects. Their first challenge was to create a “self-portrait” that expresses their unique personalities and and interests without revealing their faces. Technically, the students focused on clarity, exposure, lighting, and composition. Using relevant technology, such as their cell phones and ipads, they worked through the boundaries of their personal devices. They edited their images using Photoshop and applied filters to enhance the photographs. The final challenge was to write statements using only three hashtags.
